    • Position Summary
    • Temporary hourly-intermittent student assistant position available in Temporary hourly-intermittent student assistant position in Community Engagement Belonging.

    • Start Date
    • Position available on or after October 5, 2026 and ending on or before May 31, 2027.  Possibility of reappointment based on budget, department needs, and job performance.

    • Job Description/Duties


    • Duties include but are not limited to:
      • Monarch outreach & student engagement — support outreach to Monarch students; assist with communications and promotion of workshops, graduate school visits, academic field experiences, and other Monarch RISE opportunities; support tabling and student engagement; develop approved outreach materials.
      • Monarch RISE program support & research — assist with preparation and implementation of workshops, graduate pathways activities, field experiences, and UndocuAlly programming; research graduate programs, scholarships/fellowships, community resources, and educational opportunities; prepare program materials.
      • Program assessment & administrative support — assist with attendance, student interest/availability data, outreach tracking, evaluations, program documentation, and organization of program records/materials.
      • Event & general program support — assist with event setup/takedown, graduate celebration and other Monarch activities; attend required trainings/meetings;
      • Other duties as assigned.

       

    • Qualifications
    • Preferred Qualifications:

      • Interest in outreach, communications, or student engagement.

      • Basic knowledge of or willingness to learn design platforms such as Canva, Adobe Express, or similar tools.

      • Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook) and how to use them for campus engagement.

      • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

      • Ability to work effectively in a diverse, inclusive, and team-oriented environment.

      • Dependable, responsible, and able to manage time effectively to meet deadlines.

      • Open to learning new software, communication tools, and outreach strategies.

      • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to follow directions while taking initiative.

      • Willingness to represent the department professionally at campus events.


      Required Qualifications:
      • Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
      • Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units. 
    • Salary Range
    • $17.00 per hour.
