- Temporary hourly-intermittent student assistant position available in Academic Affairs.
- Position available on or after October 6, 2026, and ending on or before May 31, 2027. Possibility of reappointment based on budget, department needs, and job performance.
- Duties include but are not limited to:
- Participate in training and applied learning related to qualitative research methods, ethical data practices, and qualitative data analysis tools;
- Assist with the qualitative analysis of open-ended student survey responses and engagement feedback from sources such as NSSE, FSSE, the HEDS Sense of Community Survey, and institutional student success initiatives;
- Code qualitative data, document analytic decisions, and identify emerging themes and patterns related to belonging, engagement, mentorship, persistence, barriers to student success, and culturally responsive support;
- Participate in regular project-team meetings, including biweekly faculty-student research meetings during the primary analysis period;
- Assist with reports, presentations, workshops, and other dissemination products that connect project findings to the Stan State Strategic Plan, Student Success Framework, and Seal of Excelencia priorities;
- Support project evaluation and documentation, including assessment of student learning, stakeholder feedback, and the institutional usefulness of findings.

- Preferred Qualifications:
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in a diverse environment with students, staff, and faculty.
- Strong critical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to identify patterns across complex information.
- Ability to work collaboratively on a research team, receive feedback, and contribute to shared analytic decisions.
- Interest in student success, educational equity, assessment, institutional research, or related areas.
- Ability to handle student experience data responsibly and follow ethical and confidential data practices.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word and Excel and willingness to learn qualitative analysis software and other project tools.
Required Qualifications:
- Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
- Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units.
