    • Position Summary
    • Temporary hourly-intermittent work study student assistant position available in Athletics. 



    • Start Date
    • Position available on or after October 1, 2026 and ending on or before May 21, 2027. Possibility of reappointment based on budget, department needs, and job performance.

    • Job Description/Duties
    • Under the general supervision of the Athletics Associate Director of Game Operations, the Game Operations Assistant, and the Athletics Communications Specialist, the Student Assistant will support game operations activities in the presence of professional coaches, staff, and spectators, and may occasionally work independently on assigned tasks during events held outside normal business hours. The Student Assistant will receive appropriate training related to game operations and is expected to demonstrate effective communication, sound judgment, and basic problem-solving skills. When situations arise that are beyond the scope of assigned responsibilities, the Student Assistant is expected to seek guidance from a supervising staff member.

      Duties include but are not limited to:
      • Pregame setup and post-game cleanup
      • Game ticketing
      • Game P.A. Announcer
      • Operate the digital scoreboard
      • Play approved music
      • Usher for seating and crowd management
      • Mop the court at indoor games
      • In charge of game day ball management
      • Run the outfield scoreboard at baseball
      • Special event setup & cleanup
      • Other duties as assigned.

    • Preferred Qualifications:
      • Demonstrates experience providing excellent customer service.
      • Demonstrates the capacity to be friendly, social, and dependable.
      • Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively in a diverse environment with students, and staff.
      • Demonstrates the ability to follow instructions.
      • Demonstrates the ability to maintain confidentiality.
      • Demonstrates strong critical thinking skills.
      • Bilingual abilities are encouraged.
      • Demonstrates effective communication skills using proper English grammar as required by the position.
      • Demonstrates attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks with appropriate follow-through.

      Required Qualifications:
      • Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
      • Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units. 
      • Must have received and accepted Financial Aid award for the current semester/year in which you are applying. 
    • Salary Range
    • $16.90 per hour.
