- One temporary hourly-intermittent student assistant position available in McNair TIRO Grant.
- Position available on or after April 1, 2026 and ending on or before May 31, 2026. Possibility of reappointment based on budget, department needs, and job performance.
- Duties include but are not limited to:
- Assist McNair Scholars with identifying campus resources.
- Create and facilitate peer-to-peer enrichment workshops and meetings.
- Create flyers and use available technologies and social media to promote events and enrichment workshops.
- Assist with program outreach and promotion at McNair sponsored events and information sessions.
- Assist with travel arrangements including use of Concur Software.
- Assist with the development, promotion, execution, and conclusion of McNair sponsored events.
- Provide prospective participants, staff, and faculty with program information.
- Assist students with McNair Scholars Program Application.
- Assist with McNair Scholars orientation.
- Manage front desk (emails, filing, scheduling, copying and scanning documents, greeting visitors, troubleshooting computer and printer issues, etc.).
- Data entry and use of databases such as Excel.
- Manage and track office inventory.
- Attend training meetings as requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrates a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
- Demonstrates current participation in the McNair Scholars Program.
- Demonstrates prior experience with Microsoft Office and Google software packages.
- Demonstrates prior experience working with diverse populations including ethnically diverse, low income, and first-generation college students.
Required Qualifications:
- Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
- Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units.
