- Temporary hourly-intermittent student assistant position available in the Criminal Justice Department.
- Position available on or after October 15, 2025 and ending on or before May 22, 2026. Possibility of reappointment based on budget, department needs, and job performance.
- Under the supervision of the Administrative Support Coordinator, Department Chair, and the Criminal Justice Department’s Youth Mentoring Program Coordinator.
Duties include but are not limited to:

General Clerical and Receptionist duties; Answering telephone, route to the correct person, take messages; data entry, photocopies, scanning, faxing; restocking and overseeing the department copy machine and office supplies.

Assist students with student forms and answer questions.

Assist the general public with questions and inquiries regarding the Criminal Justice program.

Retrieve and sort incoming mail and distribute; accordingly, prepare items for delivery, make on campus deliveries and errands.

Create new student files and assist with file maintenance. Assist with maintaining department student listserv.

Typing and/or office support duties for the Department’s Youth Mentoring program include matching protégées and mentors, developing and maintaining lists of protégées and potential student mentors.

Assist with the assessment of program impacts on protégées and mentors and collect and input end of semester survey data.

Collect and Input end of semester survey data for the Department’s Youth Mentoring program.

Serve as a liaison for schools within the Turlock Unified School District, and distribute, collect and organize mentoring related documents for each youth mentoring class.

Perform other duties or projects as assigned.
- Required Qualifications:
- Demonstrates ability to work 12-14 hours per week on campus.
- Demonstrates ability to follow instructions and communicate instructions to others.
- Demonstrates ability to answer phones and file in alphabetical order.
- Demonstrates experience with Microsoft Office Software (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Demonstrates ability to work in a confidential, fast paced environment; able to work independently in a professional manner.
- Demonstrates dependability, punctuality and responsibility.
- Ability to file in alphabetical order.
- Demonstrate ability to work independently, be professional, good attitude, trustworthy (ability to maintain confidentiality), and dependable.
- Criminal Justice majors/minors are not eligible to apply for this position.
- Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
