    • Position Summary
    • One temporary hourly-intermittent Work Study Student Assistant position in Admissions and Outreach Services (AOS).

    • Start Date
    • Position available on or after January 24, 2022 and ending on or before May 31, 2022. Possibility of reappointment based on budget, department needs, and job performance.

    • Job Description/Duties
    • Duties include but are not limited to:
      • Assist in scheduling and conducting virtual and in-person campus tours.
      • Assist in managing scheduling programs (Radius, SwipedOn, etc.) and maintaining the campus tours calendar updated.
      • Assist in reporting on-campus tour activities at the end of each semester.
      • Assist in reserving rooms for panel presentations and meetings via 25Live.
      • Assist in maintaining communication with prospective students via email and telephone regarding tours, events, and attendance.
      • Assist in learning, and relaying, updated and accurate information to guests through high quality virtual or in-person tours, events, and presentations.
      • Assist in co-orchestrating campus-wide Admissions and Outreach events in collaboration with AOS staff.
      • Assist in conveying information using a variety of tactics appropriate for the group or individual.
      • Assist in guiding groups and individuals in a public environment following appropriate safety guidelines.
      • Assist in checking the calendar regularly and know your personal work schedule.
      • Assist in addressing questions positively.
      • Assist in providing excellent and friendly customer service.
      • Assist in maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe work environment.
      • Assist in following verbal and written direction.
      • Assist in reporting any issues and follow up.
      • Assist in travelling to local elementary/middle school, and high schools to conduct presentations and facilitate outreach activities in both small and large group settings.
      • Become familiar with general admissions policies and department day to day operations.
      • Assist in representing the University at college and career fairs, manage information tables.
      • Assist in general clerical duties; such as data entry, filing, sending emails, making phone calls, scanning incoming.

      Other duties as assigned.

    • Qualifications

    • Preferred Qualifications:
      • Demonstrates excellent story tellers and public speakers.
      • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to engage with diverse student populations.
      • Demonstrates punctuality to give on-campus tours are tentatively scheduled at: 9am, 11am, 1pm, and 3pm. University Ambassadors must have 10-20 hours per week available to commit to campus tours.
      • It is preferred, but not required, that the incumbent demonstrates bilingual skills.
      • Demonstrates friendly and courteous customer service skills.
      • Demonstrates working knowledge of basic office equipment (copy machine, scanner, etc.) and programs such as Zoom, and Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Teams, etc.).
      • Demonstrates high technical and creative skills.
      • Demonstrates professionalism and excellent work ethic.

      Required Qualifications:
      • Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
      • Must have received and accepted Financial Aid award for the current semester/year in which you are applying.

    • $15.00 per hour
