ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY - Part-Time Lecturer Pool (Solano Campus). The Engineering Technology Department in the College of Engineering at California Polytechnic State University, Maritime Academy (Cal Poly Maritime), is seeking part-time lecturer positions during the 2026-2027 academic year. Part-time appointments are made from a pool of accepted applicants, as determined by need, and contingent on funding. Responsibilities include teaching engineering technology and engineering plant operations courses. Candidates with the USCG Second Assistant Engineer License and/or extensive experience in the maritime or facilities engineering industries are encouraged to apply.
Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background and are determined by the hiring department. Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank. As of July 2024, the classification salary ranges for the respective ranks are:
Lecturer A: $5,507-$6,677
Lecturer B: $6,221-$13,224
Lecturer C: $6,825-$14,523
Lecturer D: $8,593-$15,211

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
B.S. in Marine Engineering Technology, Facilities Engineering Technology, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering or related field. Effective communication skills required.
Demonstrated experience and commitment to student-centered learning and teaching, as well as the ability to collaboratively work in multidisciplinary settings is required. Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral use of the English language is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
A graduate degree in a related engineering discipline is preferred. Teaching and/or industrial experience is preferred. Applicants with extensive industry experience, USCG licensures, and/or maritime experience are encouraged to apply.
Experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment. Relevant work experience and those who bring professional capabilities.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
