Job Summary 

Under the general direction of the Director of Education Abroad, the Short-Term Study Abroad Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and implementation of operations for Short-term Study Abroad Programs in summer and winter session.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Coordination - Establish timelines and workflow for each short-term study abroad program. Communicate regularly with faculty on all aspects of the logistics for short-term study abroad programs. Maintain strong interpersonal connections with faculty. Communicate regularly with academic departments, colleges, and staff in CPaCE on relevant policies and procedures governing short-term study abroad.
  • Administrative Support - Request deposit accounts in CPaCE for non-provider programs. Collaborate with CPaCE finance manager to process invoices and purchase orders. Assist faculty with Requests for Travel. Work with faculty to ensure that forms are completed in a timely and accurate manner. Submit Requests for Travel to Academic Affairs for approval.

Professional with a proven ability to execute assignments and develop effective solutions tailored to program needs, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail and the capacity to manage multiple tasks independently. Skilled in overseeing and allocating financial resources with accountability, while maintaining strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with diverse groups. Adept at professionally representing the department to stakeholders through clear written and verbal communication, and fostering collaborative relationships with academic departments, program offices, and external partners. Technologically proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, with preferred experience in CMS and study abroad database software.

Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.  Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures.  Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."

Education and Experience

• Equivalent to four years of administrative support experience required.

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

• CSULB work experience preferred.

• Academic/Program department experience preferred.

Physical Summary

  • Sedentary work - Involves mainly sitting. Walking and standing are minimal. Lifting is limited to lightweight objects. (10 pounds or less).

Compensation

Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.

Hiring Range: The hiring range for this position is $3,864 - $3,900 per month commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.

CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $3,864 - $6,072 per month.

Time Base

1.0 time-base, 40 hours per week.

Duration of Appointment

This is a temporary position for 1 year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
