Major Duties
Under general supervision of the Director of Finance and Operations (DFO), the Systems & Technology Support Specialist delivers technical support to Windows (Dell) systems and is primary support for Apple systems. The Systems & Technology Support Specialist works in collaboration with other college technology staff to support the students, faculty, staff and administration of the David Nazarian College of Business and Economics (DNCBE). This position provides technology support primarily to staff, administration and faculty. Incumbent provides consultation and advice to ensure hardware and software meet the needs of designated areas and follow college and University policies.
- Provides primary technical support for Apple desktops and laptops; also supports Windows (Dell) systems, peripherals, and iPads.
- Diagnoses and resolves complex hardware and software issues.
- Maintains, monitors, and proactively services technology assets.
- Researches, evaluates, and recommends new technology solutions.
- Coordinates and oversees the work of student assistants.
- Configures, deploys, and maintains new and repurposed computing equipment, including desktops, laptops, printers, multifunction copiers/scanners, iPads, and related peripherals.
- Applies patches and updates to Apple and Windows systems using enterprise tools such as Active Directory, SCCM, Jamf, and related applications; verifies successful deployment and remediates issues.
- Assesses hardware/software lifecycle, recommends replacement or upgrades, and coordinates refresh and maintenance projects.
- Provides training, consultation, and guidance to end users on technology tools, usage, and best practices.
- Creates and maintains functional test environments to assess the feasibility and impact of upcoming technology changes within the existing infrastructure.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field
- Certification training and applied experience may be substituted for the required education, on a year-for-year basis.
- Three years of full-time, progressively responsible field-related experience that includes knowledge of relevant hardware, software, maintenance, and user support.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Must have knowledge of Apple operating systems (macOS and iOS) and Windows 11. Requires knowledge of administrating users, groups, and computers using Active Directory, System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), and Jamf.
- Understands and has experience with coordinating inventory (purchasing, maintaining, determining useful life, replacing and deprovisioning).
- Demonstrates the ability to assist others in completing work assignments. Oversees and coordinates multiple simultaneous projects, prioritizing external needs with own work load. Creates documentation for procedures, training, policies, and general communication.
- Works collaboratively with other members in the College and across the campus, in person and remotely. Can learn, adapt, administrate and incorporate new or updated operating systems into existing infrastructure. Can maintain currency with changes in technologies and sees potential application to college environment.
- Communicates effectively both orally and in writing, and can convey pertinent changes (to equipment, operations, campus guidelines, etc.) to relevant constituents via multiple methods. Exhibits strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

- Classification: Info Tech Consultant / 0420 / grade 2
- The anticipated HIRING RANGE: $5158 - $7200 per month, dependent upon qualifications and experience. The salary range for this classification is: $5158 - $12,730 per month.
- HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday; may include evenings and weekends.
- This is a Regular position with a one-year probationary period.
- The individual hired for this role will physically work on-campus in Northridge. This is not a telecommute position.
