Major Duties
PLEASE NOTE: The position will be filled at either the Student Services Professional SSP IB, or SSP II level, dependent upon the applicant's qualifications:
- SSP IB: You'll assist with the comprehensive management of commencement ticketing and technological support, ensuring smooth operations for thousands of graduates and guests. Responsibilities include developing and managing ticketing workshops, liaising directly with platform vendors, troubleshooting capacity-related issues, and coordinating with IT for event technical needs. You’ll maintain and update online student orientation interfaces, ensuring accurate and timely data management. Additionally, you'll oversee and enhance departmental websites and digital communications. This role also encompasses extensive interaction with students, families, and guests, providing exemplary service and resolving eligibility concerns. You will support day-to-day planning and execution of various transition-related signature events and play a critical role in training and supervising student assistants and volunteers, preparing them for successful participation in significant university events.

- "Creation and implementation of eligibility and ticketing support workshops."

- SSP II: This role primarily coordinates ticketing and technology platforms, oversees department technology, supports events, and maintains online student orientation platforms. You'll collaborate across campus departments, extensively interact with students and guests, and lead student staff training and supervision. You’ll also handle operational troubleshooting, budgeting, and continuous assessment to ensure event success and platform effectiveness.
- Key Responsibilities:
- "Primary liaison with ticketing platform vendor and lead staff member overseeing construction, utility, accessibility, and aesthetic of product as it rolls out and is utilized by students/guests."
- "Coordinates hiring, training, and supervising student assistants for GradFest and Commencements in relation to ticketing, ticketing distribution, on-site computer/software platform (“Tassel”) utility, and name-card distribution (approx. 25-30 student assistants)."
- "Coordinates the day-to-day maintenance of departmental websites, including WebTwo for university website pages."
- "Developing, executing, and evaluating leadership training programs, workshops and retreats."
- "Collaborates with other staff to execute all necessary communications to students related to NSO online, and other NSO reservation systems."
- "Monitors and reports on ticketing as it relates to venue capacity."
- "Troubleshoots and strategizes opportunities and solutions to ensure ticketing distribution aligns with max-capacity thresholds in compliance with campus, city, state, etc., codes/regulations."
- "Creation and implementation of eligibility and ticketing support workshops which will occur prior and during CSUN’s GradFest event."
- "Coordinates department assessment needs by serving on the divisional ‘Assessment Community of Practice’."

Qualifications
- SSP IB:
- Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or a job-related field.
- Equivalent to one year of experience in professional Student Services work at the entry trainee level.
- A Master's degree in a job-related field may be substituted for the required experience.
- SSP II:
- Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in a job-related field.
- Equivalent to two years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field.
- A Master’s degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one year of professional experience.
- Additional specialized and relevant experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- SSP IB:
- Strong proficiency in digital content management and online platforms.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills for diverse audiences.
- Ability to collaborate successfully with external vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience with training and mentoring student staff.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and web-based technology tools.
- SSP II:
- Proficiency in managing online and technology-based event platforms.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Experience with training and supervising student employees.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices for online content.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and effectively in high-pressure situations.
Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
- The university offers an excellent benefits package, including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, retirement & savings, tuition waiver, and more.
- Classification: Student Services Professional IB or II / 3079/2 or 3082/1
- The anticipated HIRING RATE for the SSP IB is $4482 per month. The salary range for this classification is: $4482 - $6342 per month.
- The anticipated HIRING RATE for the SSP II is $5083 per month. The salary range for this classification is: $5083 - $7228 per month.
- HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday; may include evenings and weekends. Must be willing to be in attendance for programming which can occur on nights and/or weekends, including extensive outdoor work performed at a variety of venues or at local retreat sites during heavy programming time frames (Commencement – mid/late May, New Student Orientation – Early June, and All of August).
- This is a Temporary position; end date to be determined.
- The individual hired for this role will physically work on campus in Northridge. This is not a telecommute position.
