Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or other appropriate supervisor, the primary duties are to provide
moving services campus wide (i.e. various office/classroom furniture moves, surplus furniture moves and event
setup/teardown). The incumbent maintains professionalism and works cooperatively and effectively with the campus
community and event sponsors. Work includes the full scope of “laborer” job duties on an “as needed” basis.

FLSA: Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime compensation)

Anticipated Hiring Range: $3,680 - $4,087 per month, commensurate with the candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.

Minimum Qualifications 

Abilities:

Ability to read and write at a level appropriate to the duties of the position; follow verbal and written instructions to
ensure safety; perform regular strenuous manual labor; and safely move heavy items in excess of 50 pounds.

License:
Some positions may require possession of a valid California driver’s license.

Required Qualifications 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

1. Ability to consistently provide excellent customer services.

2. Ability to work independently, as well as cooperatively with others as part of a team.

3. Ability to work with a diverse population (e.g. students, faculty, and staff).

4. Ability to use and operate tools and equipment related to the position.

5. Ability to maintain physical condition necessary for frequent lifting (up to 90 lbs. and/or above shoulders)
and frequent carrying (up to 50 lbs.), as well as, frequent bending, climbing, reaching, kneeling, and
pushing/pulling.

6. Ability to follow safe work practices.

7. Ability to work flexible work schedules (e.g. overtime, evenings, weekends), as needed

8. Possess valid driver’s license and maintenance of good driver record.

Preferred Qualifications 

9. Current Forklift Operation Certification, or ability to acquire Forklift Operation Certification. 

10. Ability to use standard office software, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and work order software.
