Job/Department Summary:

Working under general supervision of the Scholarship Coordinator, the Scholarship Specialist performs complex professional Student Services work that typically follows well-established work procedures requiring minimal direction. This position advises students on various aspects of scholarship matters including searching for scholarships, writing scholarship applications and essays, seeking letters of recommendation, coordinating scholarships with other federal, state, and institutional financial aid. This position is also responsible for individual and group informational and training presentations to students, staff, faculty, and administrators as well as functional support of Scholarship Vendor Software related to the CSU, Chico Scholarship Program and processing of external scholarships.

Required Education and Experience:

EDUCATION:
Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or a job-related field.
AND
EXPERIENCE:
Two years of full-time professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field; experience should give evidence of competence and indicate the potential for further growth.

A Master’s degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one year of the professional experience. Additional specialized experience which demonstrates the applicant has successfully applied the knowledge and abilities of a Student Services professional may also be substituted for required education on a year-for year basis.

• Bilingual
• Regulatory experience
• Scholarship platform experience

Time Base: Full-time- 1.0

Pay Plan: 12/12

Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm, Summer - Mon-Thurs 7:00-5:30. 

CSU Classification Salary Range:  $58,092 - $82,608 per year.
