Responsibilities

The Associate Athletics Director for Administration and Compliance is a member of Athletics Senior Staff participating in the management and oversight of the Athletics Department. The incumbent provides strategic consultation to the Athletics Director covering the evolving intercollegiate athletics landscape and analyzes several dynamics including new governmental legislation, state and federal court decisions, Title IX, NCAA legislation, and competitive trends and best practices.

  • Supports the development of Athletics’ comprehensive strategic plan.
  • Responsible for the overall management of the Compliance Program for Athletics.
  • Directs all NCAA reporting, Name, Image, Likeness oversight, supports student-athletes academic success, and is the Athletics liaison to General Counsel, Title IX, Equity & Compliance, Admissions, and Financial Aid.

Qualifications

  • Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelor's degree in a job-related field. 
  • Equivalent to five years of progressive experience in collegiate athletics compliance, preferably at the Division I level.
  • A Juris Doctor (JD) or relevant advanced degree is preferred.

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Leadership

  • Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA regulations, compliance issues and related procedures, specifically at the Division I level.
  • Abilities and specialized skills to:  effectively educate and interact with coaches, student-athletes, and other members of the University community as required.
  • Strong organizational skills, excellent interpersonal skills, effective written and oral communication skills, and advanced computer skills including knowledge of NCAA Compliance Software.
  • Lead diverse teams to support the operational mission and vision of employers by fostering an ethical, inclusive and collegial work environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to support ongoing improvement through courageous, resilient, and catalytic leadership.
  • Lead varying initiatives through a collaborative, service-oriented and communicative approach.
  • Demonstrated commitment to employee development, recognition, and accountability to further operational goals.

 

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

  • Salary is commensurate with knowledge, skills, and experience. The University offers excellent fringe benefits.
  • The anticipated HIRING RANGE: $105,000 - $110,256 per year, dependent upon qualifications and experience.
