    • Position Summary
    • One temporary hourly-intermittent student assistant positions in Basic Needs CalFresh Healthy Living Program.

    • Days/Hours
    • Availability to work during the 8:00am - 4:00pm in summer and 8:30am - 5:00pm during fall. Some evening and weekend hours.
    • Start Date
    • Position available on or after July 1, 2024 and ending on or before May 31, 2025. Possibility of reappointment based on budget, department needs, and job performance.

    • Job Description/Duties
    • Duties include but are not limited to:
      • Prepare and deliver both single session and series-based sessions to Stan State students in a virtual and/or face-to-face format (e.g. Building a Healthy Plate, Shopping on a Budget, reading a Food Label, Rethink your Drink, and Planning Healthy Meals) using approval curricula.
      • Engage with students through social media platforms (Instagram (IG)) via posts, videos, reels, stories, etc.
      • Use design software (e.g.Canva) to create promotional content surrounding classes and indirect education materials.
      • Record, edit, and post recipe videos that involve student-friendly recipes from Eatfresh.org.
      • Create Harvest of the Month posts that involve the nutrient profile of seasonal produce, as well as a recipe from Eatfresh.org that features the seasonal produce
      • Collaborate with Basic Needs through IG live sessions, to showcase how CalFresh benefits can be used after becoming approved.
      • Form cross campus partnerships to promote and recruit participants (with a focus on students with limited resources) for classes.
      • Keep records of class attendance, Instagram content, and CFHL data in Word/Excel spreadsheet.
      • Attend weekly meetings with CFHL Coordinator, and brainstorm ideas surrounding policy, systems, and environmental changes that support healthy food availability
      • Attend monthly CFHL collaborative meetings to provide updates on CFHL at Stan State.
      • Assist with training of volunteers.
      • Collects and maintains documents, information, and records for submission to supervisor
      • Support the campus by providing feedback on the climate of healthy behavior, including the most pressing concerns they are seeing/experiencing in interactions.
      • Assist with CFHL programming and awareness through virtual or in-person tabling and outreach events
      • Knowledgeable of and ability to use independent judgement to refer students to additional campus resources. Refer students to Basic Needs Coordinators or Care Manager for additional resources as needed.
      • Attend meetings with Basic Needs team as needed.
      • Provide regular updates to supervisor(s).

      Other duties as assigned.

      • Demonstrates ability to accurately complete work in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
      • Demonstrates excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
      • Demonstrates dependability and able to follow-through on assignments.
      • Demonstrates familiarity with Canva, Adobe, Word, and PowerPoint.
      • Demonstrates the ability to work with a diverse population.
      • Demonstrates experience working with or awareness of college students who have experienced food insecurity and/ or financial hardships or emergencies.
      • Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher, maintained during employment; must be making progress towards degree.
      • Demonstrates the availability to work during the hours of 8:30 - 5:30. Some evening and weekend hours.

      Required Qualifications:
      • Availability to travel to Turlock and Stockton campuses.
      • Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
      • Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units.
