Position Summary

One temporary hourly-intermittent student assistant position available in Child Development Center.

 

Start Date Position available on or after September 15, 2023 and ending on or before May 31, 2024. Possibility of reappointment based on budget, department needs, and job performance.

Job Description/Duties

Under the supervision of the Child Development Center Director, the work study student will assist with general clerical tasks and center projects.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Answering phones professionally and routing inquires/messages to appropriate person.
  • Greeting and assisting families and students. 
  • Operating common office equipment. 
  • Running center errands to various departments and offices throughout campus. 
  • Alphabetizing, filing, purging, entering data and scanning documents. 
  • Assisting Center administration with various activities within the Center. 
  • Maintaining Center bulletin boards. 
  • Assisting with Center event preparations. 
  • Creating flyers, posters, and signs. 
  • Assisting with the Centers social media and website presence. Cleaning, dusting and organizing the Center, which includes the kitchen, staff room, lobby, and resource rooms and other items upon request.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Must be able to work a minimum of 15 hours a week.
  •  Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and other computer programs. 
  • Knowledge of campus and prior office experience is helpful.

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
  • Must be eligible for LAEP and have received a LAEP award.  

Salary Range $15.50 hour.
