    • Position Summary
    • (Classified as: Student Services Professional III)

      Full-time position available on or after October 1, 2022 for Admissions & Outreach Services.

      Under the general supervision of the Assistant Director of Admissions and Outreach Services, the incumbent performs highly complex interpretation of State and Chancellor's Office (CO) rules and regulations regarding Multiple Measures and Graduation Initiatives. The incumbent advises students, high schools, school districts, and administrators in the regional areas of Stanislaus, Merced, San Joaquin, Mariposa, Tuolumne and Calaveras counties on the Early Assessment Program, the new California assessment for Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP), and Multiple Measures. The incumbent works collaboratively with Stanislaus State offices and programs that conduct outreach activities in secondary schools; coordinates meetings and develops strategies to encourage high schools to identify and inform students of these programs; monitors their progress and evaluates the effectiveness of the program through quantitative and qualitative evaluation methods; reviews and evaluates educational issues driven by the California State University (CSU) and other state departments and agencies that impact K-12 education; provides activities, individual and group counseling, workshops, and incentives in coordination with the high schools and Stanislaus State faculty, assisting students in strengthening their skills, with an emphasis on preparation in Math and English. The incumbent also serves as a resource to students, faculty, high schools and community colleges; collaborates and partners with community organizations to help meet the program goals; attend relevant meetings throughout the Stanislaus State service region and CSU Chancellor’s Office. Serves on Stanislaus Futures as a team lead to improve college and Career Readiness outcomes in Stanislaus County. Serves on the SCOE mathematics team to improve professional development and initiatives as they relate to EO 1110 and Multiple Measures. In addition, the incumbent will develop and produce promotional and marketing materials and monitors and updates the EAP website. Incumbent will provide overall leadership and coordination for the EAP and has broad responsibility for planning, organizing and prioritizing work.

    • Job Duties
    • Duties include but are not limited to:
      • Establish and maintain direct contact with high school counselors and teachers and collaborate to identify students who are “Condtionally Ready, Not Yet Ready, or not Ready” based on the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress/CAASP scores and ensure the high school’s involvement, including coordinating the receipt and interpretation of test scores, ensuring district test administrators receive scores and provide them to high school counselors and then students on a timely basis.
      • Implement the Chancellor’s Office Executive Order 1100 and expanding Multiple Measures, including HS GPA, Math GPA, and senior year approved coursework.
      • Interpret and communicate new placement policies.
      • Develop and communicate Multiple Measures to high school students, incoming freshmen, counselors, and administrators.
      • Serve on GI 2025 Academic Preparation and Achievement workgroup.
      • Create professional development training for high schools and teachers that want to adopt new mathematics and quantitative reasoning courses.
      • Conduct College Readiness presentations at local regional high schools.
      • Publicize and communicate the purpose and value of College Readiness to area high schools including advising and connecting directly with administrators, teachers and counselors. Send out EAP and College Readiness communications via email (newsletters) to keep high schools informed of any EAP changes. Serve as a liaison and represent EAP regionally and state-wide.
      • Provide high schools with options for students in their senior year that will increase college readiness and review high school senior activities to ensure that the standards are aligned with CSU placement standards.
      • Attend College nights, college fairs, and community events and speak to attendees about College Readiness.
      • Evaluate the effectiveness of the program through quantitative and qualitative evaluation methods and make necessary recommendations to EAP/Early Start Advisory Committee.
      • Develop and Monitor program budget to ensure expenditures are appropriate.
      • Communicate with campus departments including Admissions & Outreach Services, Enrollment Services, Test Center, and Institutional Research, providing them with any EAP updates/changes.
      • Track students and prepare campus/CSU system EAP reports.
      • Provide leadership support and College Readiness trainings to the AOS unit and assist with the understanding of College Readiness/EAP goals and plans of action for outreach activities.
      • Coordinates ERWC and math certification workshops for high school teachers every semester and monitors college readiness indicators at CSU Stanislaus, and conducts studies of the effectiveness of the Early Assessment Program.
      • Coordinate the annual EAP Partner Breakfast for local HS and district-wide administrators and counselors.
      • Establish and maintain a relationship with district and high school administrators to ensure that they have a clear understanding of the goals, policies, and procedures related to College Readiness/EAP and CAASPP.
      • Lead and facilitate monthly College Readiness/EAP team advisory meetings which include Math and English Dept. faculty and testing coordinator.
      • Coordinate the receipt of test scores with enrollment services and document content readiness on PeopleSoft.
      • Develop/Create/Maintain College Readiness/EAP webpage and update content with EAP related information.
      • Serves on multiple community teams as the Stanislaus State representative (Stan Futures, Cradle to Career).
      • Serve as the liaison to the Stanislaus County Office of Education and local school districts.
      • Assist with Outreach Events (Open House, Warrior Welcomes, CLYC, Partner Breakfasts, WACAC, and CSU Counselor Conference) coordination and provide EAP table with early admissions reviews.
      • Maintains current knowledge of University courses, majors, prerequisites, general education, graduation requirements, procedures, rules and regulations, and other student services including financial aid and scholarship opportunities.
      • Attends training sessions and professional development conferences and meetings. 
      • Supervise and train EAP student staff/ambassadors and coordinate their presentation schedules, time-sheets, and other student staff duties. 
      • Other duties as assigned.
    • Minimum Qualifications
    • Education: Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in a related field, including or supplemented by upper division or graduate course work in counseling techniques, interviewing, and conflict resolution where such are job-related. 

      Experience: Equivalent of three years of progressively responsible professional student services work experience. (A master’s degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, or a directly related field may be substituted for one year of experience. A doctorate degree and the appropriate internship or clinical training in counseling or guidance may be substituted for the three years of experience for positions with a major responsibility for professional career or personal counseling.)

      • Demonstrated effective time management and organizational skills.
      • Ability to work an adjusted schedule (evenings and weekends) as required.
      • Knowledge of CSU admission requirements and policies.
      • Excellent public speaking skills.
      • Knowledge and extensive experience utilizing a personal computer and software applications for work processing, spreadsheets, database management, internet communications and electronic calendaring systems.
      • Bilingual – English and Spanish.

      • Working knowledge of student services programs outside the program to which immediately assigned.

      • Ability to advise students individually and in groups on complex student-related matters.
      • Ability to determine appropriate courses of action and proper techniques to utilize while engaged with individuals in personal interactions of an argumentative or sensitive nature.

    • Salary Range
    • Anticipated salary will be $4,691 – $5,160 per month plus excellent paid benefits. Salary will depend on the qualifications of the successful finalist. (Full Student Services Professional III range: $4,691 - $6,683 per month)
