    • Position Summary
    • One temporary hourly-intermittent Student Assistant position in Student Leadership and Development. 

    • Start Date
    • Position available on or after August 1, 2022 and ending on or before May 31, 2023. Possibility of reappointment based on budget, department needs, and job performance.

    • Job Description/Duties
    • Duties include but are not limited to:
      • Assist the Director of Student Leadership and Development in maintaining leadership program initiatives and up to date records on the student engagement platform.
      • Assist in tracking participation in leadership programming through the student engagement platform.
      • Assist in collaborating with the Director for Student Leadership and Development; and within the university community to plan and implement leadership programs.
      • Assist in creating a welcoming and engaging environment to integrate student leaders and students into campus life.
      • Assist in contributing to the planning and execution of the Warrior Leadership Program, Dr. Marvalene Hughes Leadership Conference, and other leadership initiatives.
      • Assist in counseling students on areas of personal and professional development.
      • Assist in coordinating the Warrior Leadership Program, including marketing and administration of the program, and collaborating with campus partners to facilitate workshops.
      • Assist in creating and conducting workshops to promote skill building for student leaders through teambuilding, communication, exercises, etc.
      • Assist in coordinating the Dr. Marvalene Hughes Leadership Conference including making facility reservations, planning meals, identifying keynote and feature speakers, selecting qualified presenters (Faculty, staff, and students) for breakout sessions during the program, creating and implementing evaluation tools to measure success of program.
      • Assist with the planning and implementation of the Student Leadership Awards.
      • Present/co-present at least one leadership workshop a semester.
      • Assist in problem-solving on the day of programs/events and respond to issues quickly and effectively.
      • Assist the Director for Student Leadership and Development with preparation and implementation of various leadership initiatives throughout the year.
      • Actively participate on the Student Leadership and Development Team by assisting with office initiatives and programs.

      Other duties as assigned.

    • Qualifications
    • Preferred Qualifications:
      • It is preferred, but not required, that the incumbent demonstrates possession of a Bachelor's degree.
      • It is is preferred, but not required, that the incumbent is enrolled in a Master's degree program in either Counselor Education, or Public Administration with coursework and interest in student personnel or higher education administration, or a related field.
      • Demonstrates previous leadership experience.
      • Demonstrates the ability to work with a diverse student and administrative customer base.
      • Demonstrates strong ability to work with and contribute to the team.
      • Demonstrates outstanding interpersonal skills.
      • Demonstrates excellent decision-making and time management skills.
      • Demonstrates dependability, punctuality, honesty, and integrity.
      • Demonstrates the ability to function well under pressure and in a fast paced office environment.
      • Demonstrates the ability to prioritize work, manage time and multi-task appropriately.
      • Demonstrates effective customer relations and communication skills.
      • Demonstrates the interest in mentoring, developing, and supervising students.
      • Demonstrates the willingness to work evening and weekend hours.

      Required Qualifications:
      • Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
      • Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units.

    • $16.00 per hour
