    • Position Summary
    • Multiple temporary hourly-intermittent Student Assistant positions available in Student Leadership and Development.

    • Start Date
    • Position available on or after January 3, 2022 and ending on or before January 14, 2022. Possibility of reappointment based on budget, department needs, and job performance.

    • Job Description/Duties
    • Duties include but are not limited to:
      • Assist in serving as a positive role model.
      • Assist in welcoming new students and assist them during orientation sessions.
      • Act as a resource person and develop good rapport with new students and their families.
      • Assist in coordinating with faculty and staff members, other Orientation Leaders and members of Stanislaus State administration to facilitate the success of all aspects of the New Student Orientation Program.
      • Assist in the facilitation of icebreakers and other engaging group activities.
      • Assist in the facilitation of small group discussions related to academic and community expectations, student life issues and answer participant questions.
      • Assist in the development of class schedules and assist in the registration progress.
      • Assist in the preparation, implementation and evaluation of the New Student Orientation Program.
      • Become knowledgeable through training on various aspects of the University.

      Other duties as assigned.

      • Demonstrates good interpersonal and group communication and presentation skills.
      • Demonstrates the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of team members.
      • Demonstrates personal skills and qualities including creativity, patience, attention to details and the ability to multi task.
      • Demonstrates familiarity with virtual online platforms such as Zoom, GroupMe Application, social media (Instagram, Facebook, SnapChat, and Tik Tok), and Microsoft Teams.
      • Demonstrates enrollment as a full time student with a good academic standing (GPA of 2.0 or above).
      • Demonstrates the ability to comply with Student Code of Conduct.

      Required Qualifications:
      • Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
      • Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units.

    • $15.00 per hour
