    • Position Summary
    • One temporary hourly-intermittent Student Assistant position in Communications and Public Affairs.

    • Start Date
    • Position available on or after August 23, 2021 and ending on or before May 28, 2022. Possibility of reappointment based on budget, department needs, and job performance.

    • Job Description/Duties
    • Duties include but are not limited to:
      • Assist in reviewing student communications produced and facilitated by the Office of Communications & Public Affairs.
      • Assist in selecting and writing content to be shared with students on a variety of communication platforms, including but not limited to e-newsletters, web, social media, student portal, etc.
      • Assist in drafting strategies and ad concepts to promote the Warrior Weekly e-newsletter to students.
      • Assist with Warrior Weekly video roundup writing, production and distribution.
      • Make recommendations for content to be placed on myStanState student portal.
      • Assist with content creation and scheduling of social media posts for official University social media channels.
      • Assist in online outreach and promotion using Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and others.
      • Assist in analytics reporting on social media sites and various social media projects.
      • Assist in designing flyers, graphics, evites and other marketing material for programs and events.
      • Meet regularly with the Communications & Public Affairs editorial team to identify student stories, accomplishments and other opportunities to share and elevate student voices.
      • Assist in drafting, and learn how to distribute and pitch news releases, media alerts and other stories.
      • Assist staff with various projects including news clips, basic relationship building, file maintenance, photo cataloguing, document preparation and scheduling.
      • Represent the Communications & Public Affairs Team at campuswide student resource events.
      • Communicate with University departments and programs regarding pertinent information and news to share with students.
      • Serve as a brand ambassador.

      Other duties as assigned.

    • Qualifications
    • Preferred Qualifications:
      • Demonstrates completion of, or working toward a college degree, preferably in a related field (e.g., English, marketing/communications, or public relations).
      • Demonstrates strong writing and editing skills.
      • It is preferred, but not required, that the incumbent demonstrates previous internship or related experience in marketing or communications.
      • Demonstrates a firm grasp of available tools and platforms in the social media space.
      • Demonstrates working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
      • Demonstrates proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.
      • Demonstrates knowledge of HTML and graphic design.
      • Demonstrates effective communication, both written and oral.
      • Demonstrates the ability to communicate in a professional manner with media and community contacts, including current and potential donors.
      • Demonstrates the capacity to be self-motivated, good organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines.

      Required Qualifications:
      • Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
      • Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units.

    • $15.00 per hour
