    • Position Summary
    • (Classified as: Confidential Administrative Support, PSL II, Exempt)

      Full-time temporary position available in Safety & Risk Management.


      Under general supervision of the Interim Director of Safety & Risk Management and dotted-line direction of the Employee/Labor Relations & Compliance Manager, the incumbent independently performs administrative, technical and analytical work in support of the university’s COVID-19 Response Program. In addition to administrative functions, the incumbent will research and provide analysis based on applicable state and federal laws, technical letters, executive orders, collective bargaining agreements, policies, procedures, and best practices. The incumbent will perform varied and complex work that includes doing research and analysis; providing recommendations on policy and procedure; providing guidance, training and advice; ensuring compliance; and preparing reports for areas of responsibility. Incumbent will perform work of a confidential nature in support of developing management’s positions with regard to COVID-19 Management and Response. 

    • Job Duties
    • Duties include but are not limited to:
      • Manage and track COVID-19 related reports using Maxient.
      • Run Maxient (COVID-19) reports in compliance with Cal OSHA reporting and tracking requirements.
      • Adhere to state and local guidelines with regard to contacting individuals who tested positive, or have been identified as close contacts, gather information, provide guidance, and track positive cases.
      • Report cases as required to the Department of Public Health, Chancellor’s Office, and update the Stan State website.
      • Work with Communications to draft campus notices regarding positive on-campus cases per federal, state, and local requirements.
      • Provide notice to individuals identified as close-contacts, provide guidance for required quarantine and isolation periods per CDC guidance which can be outside of normal working hours.
      • Notify unions in writing when a positive COVID-19 case is confirmed on campus.
      • Answer COVID-19 related questions, manage and answer calls to the COVID-19 call line, and respond to emails, and manage the Covid-reporting account.
      • Monitor the Daily Health Screenings.
      • Maintain compliance with AB 685, SB 1159, and any and all other local, state, and federal requirements. 
      • Other duties as assigned.
    • Minimum Qualifications
    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, or a related field. Additional years of professional related experience may be substituted for the degree on a year for year basis. 


      Experience: One to three FTE years of related administrative experience.

    • Preferred Qualifications

      • Experience in a complex public sector, academic, human resources or safety and risk management environment highly desirable.
      • Experience in union environment with multiple collective bargaining agreements.
      • Experience with workers compensation programs, leaves programs, workplace health and safety issues, OSHA Requirements.

      • Ability to analyze, interpret, apply, and explain various complex and specialized programs, policies and procedures to administration, staff, faculty and students.
      • Demonstrated ability to understand problems from a broader perspective, anticipate the impact, analyze, develop and offer solutions on a wide variety of policies and procedures where specific guidelines do not exist.
      • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in a broad range of circumstances including interpersonal contacts that may be highly sensitive, potentially volatile or emotional, and/or confidential in nature.
      • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire trust and confidence among colleagues, staff, faculty, and management; to work in harmony with a wide range of campus and CSU system personnel; and to serve as a member of a larger team whose purpose is to advance the mission of CSU Stanislaus.
      • Highly effective organizational skills and customer service, team-oriented, collaborative work style approach in carrying out assignments.
      • Demonstrated ability to independently prioritize, plan and organize multiple responsibilities, including setting and meeting deadlines, multi-tasking and adjusting to changing priorities in a sometimes stressful environment;
      • Demonstrated technical literacy with standard office computers and software, including proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, electronic mail, electronic scheduling; web publishing and Internet communication software; PeopleSoft.
      • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing; including ability to independently draft and compose written correspondence and reports with thorough knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling, including good proofreading and editing skills.
      • Ability to develop, coordinate and present training in areas of responsibility.
      • Demonstrated ability to maintain composure and tact during high stress situations and under heavy workload, with conflicting priorities, frequent interruptions, and other demands.
      • Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions; maintain strict confidentiality and to exercise considerable discretion, diplomacy and exercise sound judgment.
    • Special Conditions

      • Candidate must be willing to be on-call for any time that a COVID case is reported. Will need to monitor COVID reporting line on an on-call basis, as coordinated with supervisor.

    • Salary Range
    • $4,233 - $9,514 per month plus excellent paid benefits (Anticipated salary will be $4,233 - $5,079 per month, depending on the qualifications of the successful finalist).
