Under direct supervision of the NSC CARS, the Academic Advisor performs basic professional student services work, utilizing a combination of high-level interpersonal skills and personal student contact. Academic advisors help students develop intentional decision-making skills and strategies for academic success and work on problems from the investigation and analysis stage through the solution and implementation stage. The primary work processes typically following well established work procedures and guidelines. The Academic Advisor provides developmental, academic advising to potential and current students on a drop-in, referral, or appointment basis and perform related activities supporting the University's focus on student success, retention, and graduation. Support ongoing retention and student success efforts including targeted engagement with prospective students throughout the admissions cycle and coordination of outreach activities. Director, Systemwide Risk Management in Chancellor's Office
The California State University, Office of the Chancellor, is seeking a Director, Systemwide Risk Management to assist the Senior Director, Systemwide Risk Management (SRM) in the management of day-to-day risk management operations of the CSU. Working closely with the Sr. Director, SRM, the incumbent assists in developing and managing comprehensive risk management initiatives, with a focus on Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and insurance programs for the system. This position is responsible for ensuring systemwide risk management programs are clearly communicated and understood at the campus and auxiliary level, and for providing proactive measures and services / products to all CSU campuses and auxiliaries, as well as coordinating with the California State University Risk Management Authority (CSURMA) and the Auxiliary Organizations Risk Management Alliance (AORMA). The position will also serve as the primary SRM/CSURMA risk management consultant and liaison with AORMA members.
