As an integral member of the Student Affairs management team, the Deputy Dean of Students plays a lead role in supporting the wellbeing of all students by serving as point for critical incidents involving students, leading a portfolio responsible for intervening and assisting when students are experiencing difficulties, and mediating/resolving high level student issues and concerns. The Deputy Dean of Students will regularly bring campus leadership together in order to reduce barriers to student success and ensure that programs, services, and initiatives are culturally relevant. The Deputy Dean of Students actively cultivates, builds, prioritizes, and maintains strong, collaborative relationships with campus community members from all sectors of the university. |

The department of Interdisciplinary Studies and Liberal Studies (ISLS) at California State University, Northridge (CSUN) is seeking a tenure-track faculty member in Interdisciplinary Studies at the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will teach courses in the BA in Interdisciplinary Studies as well as our teacher education BA in Liberal Studies. The candidate’s research and teaching interests will lie in one or more richly interdisciplinary areas such as, but not limited to, Science and Technology Studies, Ethics and AI, Digital Humanities, Library and Information Sciences, Geographic Information Science, Behavioral Economics, Cognitive Science, Bioinformatics, Gender, Sexuality, and Intersectionality Studies, Ethnic Studies, Native/Indigenous Studies, Cultural Ecology, Environmental Humanities, and Media and Communication Studies. |

Under general supervision, incumbents operate, maintain, repair and inspect heating, ventilating, air conditioning, refrigeration and water systems and equipment; test, adjust, and calibrate boiler and air conditioning machinery and mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and/or microprocessor control instruments; test and chemically treat boiler, condenser, and cooling tower water and water from other systems; maintain, inspect, diagnose and make emergency repairs to steam, natural gas, water, refrigerant, compressed air and vacuum systems; regularly use features of building automation systems to diagnose and troubleshoot problems in the HVAC systems while optimizing energy usage; monitor building automation systems data and adjust system accordingly; respond to service requests to adjust air flow, temperature and humidity balances for individual rooms, building areas or buildings; maintain swimming pools; maintain logs of maintenance and repairs using manual and computerized recordkeeping systems; and may instruct and lead semi-skilled or unskilled assistants. |
